Position Description
The ReStore General Manager oversees all operations and performance at the IHHFH ReStore, ensuring it supports the mission of Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity (IHHFH). This role involves leading the ReStore team, managing daily operations, sales, inventory, customer service, and ensuring the facility is well-maintained. The General Manager will also be responsible for staff development, implementing marketing strategies, and building community relationships to drive ReStore success.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Operations & Administration:
- Ensure daily opening/closing, financial audits, and deposits.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Operations Administrator to hire, onboard, and train staff, track performance.
- Oversee pricing, inventory, procurement of goods, and donation scheduling.
- Maintain accurate records for sales, inventory, donations, and finances.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead staff and volunteers, fostering a positive work environment.
- Schedule staff for optimal coverage and efficiency.
- Provide regular performance feedback, training, and professional growth opportunities.
- Facility & Equipment Management:
- Ensure the physical building and vehicles are safe and maintained.
- Coordinate facility maintenance and improvements as needed.
- Marketing & Community Engagement:
- Coordinate with the marketing department to implement marketing strategies and manage the promotional calendar.
- Build relationships within the community to increase ReStore awareness and support.
- Reporting & Strategic Planning:
- Prepare monthly reports for staff and an annual report for the Board.
- Analyze sales trends and operational efficiency, making data-driven improvements.
- Collaboration & Representation:
- Represent ReStore within IHHFH and at local community events.
- Collaborate with regional or national ReStore managers for best practices.
- EOS Implementation & Strategic Management:
- Implement and align with EOS principles, including facilitating Level 10 meetings, managing rocks and scorecards, and maintaining the ReStore Vision/Traction Organizer (V/TO).
- Track progress against the annual budget, sales goals, and operational objectives.
Qualifications and Required Knowledge/Skills
- Retail operations experience and management experience (3+ years preferred).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and retail management systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA) and operating warehouse equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible work schedule (Tuesday-Saturday).
